Memphis Rub is a blues-rock band from Florida's Suncoast that has regularly performed at venues and festivals since 2016. "Hurricane" Gary Drouin (guitar), Scott Matzke (bass/vocals), Dan Ryan (keyboards), and David Wells (drums/vocals).

The Memphis Rub Band hails from the Suncoast area of Florida, playing blues-rock covers and originals with a bit of funk and R&B mixed in. The band formed in 2016 and performs at venues and festivals up and down the Suncoast. Their debut album, "Taste", was released in 2018. The band's lineup is "Hurricane" Gary Drouin (guitar), Scott Matzke (bass/vocals), Dan Ryan (keyboards), and David Wells (drums/vocals).
Long Bio
Memphis Rub is a 4-piece blues-rock band from the Suncoast area of Florida, performing a blend of blues, rock, funk and R&B. The band's lineup is "Hurricane" Gary Drouin (guitar), Scott Matzke (bass/vocals), Dan Ryan (keyboards), and David Wells (drums/vocals).
In 2016 Gary and Scott started a band named after Memphis, the city that calls itself the "Home of the Blues", the "Birthplace of Rock 'n Roll", and the "Cradle of American Music". Dan joined the band shortly afterwards, and David came on board in 2019.
The Memphis Rub Band performs at a variety of venues and festivals up and down the Suncoast, putting their spin on tunes by Delbert McClinton, Tommy Castro, Ace Moreland, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and others, but the band also writes and performs original music. Their debut album, "Taste", was released in 2018, and a new album is in the works!
